John and Sandy Planting – 60 Years of Bonsai History

September 17, 2021 @ 7:00 pm 9:30 pm

Sixty years ago John and Sandy Planting joined Kusamura Bonsai Club and have been integral members ever since.
In 2011 we did a celebration of their 50 years in the club with a look back captured in this slide presentation

We plan to meet in person once again on September 17 when we’ll celebrate their 60th anniversary with our club.

We invite members who have trees created by John and Sandy to bring them for a large Show-And-Tell event. We will set up several tables to display your trees. After some words of welcome by our President and a brief look at John and Sandy’s early days in the club  we will ask each owner to talk about their trees. Please share a bit of the tree’s history since you got it from John or Sandy and perhaps what you want to do in the future. We’ll ask John and Sandy if they remember any of the tree’s history while they owned it – something you may want to know later.

We’ll have our usual refreshments and chatting at the break.

You must be fully vaccinated to attend.  You must also wear a mask when indoors. Masks make it difficult to speak clearly so we’ll have a microphone to pass around when it’s your turn to speak.
