Dwarf Japanese Cedar – Guided Growth

Botanical Name: Cryptomeria japonica

Common Name: Dwarf Japanese Cedar

Story of the Tree

This Dwarf Japanese Cedar was purchased by Marsha for $100 at the Bay Island Bonsai sale in 2014. What followed has been over a decade of steady refinement and training.

She began working with Kathy Shaner, whose eye for structure and balance helped shape its early styling. Over time, she continued its development with Peter Tea, further guiding its form and character.

Trained since 2010, the tree reflects the influence of experienced teachers and the quiet dedication of its caretaker. It stands today as a graceful, evolving reminder of the value of mentorship in the art of bonsai.
