Silver Berry – A Tree Remembered

Botanical Name: Elaeagnus

Common Name: Silver Berry

Story of the Tree

This Silver Berry bonsai began a new chapter when Marsha won it at the Kusamura raffle table in 2015. The tree had been donated by John and Sandy Planting, and at the time, it was a wild full cascade, beautiful but in need of care.

Since then, Marsha has focused on restoring the tree’s health and guiding it through a thoughtful redesign. In 2024, it was repotted into a handmade pot, marking a new phase in its recovery and refinement.

Though still in development, the tree now reflects both the care it’s received and the memory of those who nurtured it before. As Marsha puts it,

“I’m really happy with the direction—and I fondly remember the Plantings as I do.”

This tree carries more than style—it carries a sense of community, continuity, and quiet thanks.
