Story of the Tree

I found this tiny tree at the Mammoth sale in Oakland in 2025 — a little mophead with a wonderful branching structure, planted in a round, somewhat rustic, pinkish-lavender pot. This spring I repotted it into a rectangular pot by Ogurayama, a potter born in Kyoto in 1920.

The tree is new. The pot has a century of history behind it.
